A New Government’s Solar Pledge

In good news for the environment, and our ECO customers, Ed Miliband, the newly appointed energy & net zero secretary, has announced the government’s commitment to deliver a “rooftop revolution”, which includes tripling the amount of solar-generated power generated in the UK by 2030.

From what we can see, it looks like this pledge will be achieved by increasing solar panel installations on existing properties (as ECO4 does), by making changes to building regulations for new builds regarding solar systems, and through the introduction of multiple new, large scale solar farms in strategic regions of the country.

The average solar set up for a home in the UK is approx £9000. For low-income households, people receiving means-tested benefits, and people with a health condition that is adversely impacted by the cold (respiratory, heart, mobility or autoimmune related), please contact us to check your eligibility and understand your options for ECO4 funding.
