Eco-Friendly Energy: Get Free Solar Panel Grants in the UK

Solar Panel Grants

The ECO4 scheme offers free solar panel grants designed to reduce carbon emissions and combat fuel poverty. Following the end of the Solar Feed-in Tariff (FiT) in March 2019, securing an ECO4 grant has become the pathway to obtaining a free grant.

Our Team

Our team has been assisting individuals in obtaining grant funding for ecogen solar and heating systems since the inception of ECO in 2013 and during the Solar Feed-in Tariff period. We’ve successfully assisted thousands of people throughout the British Isles in securing free grants for solar PV systems, including solar batteries, resulting in more affordable electricity and home heating.

If you qualify for specific benefits, you may be eligible for free solar panels, potentially leading to a 50% reduction in your energy bills. These solar panel grants are subsidized by UK energy companies and do not require repayment.

If you are in receipt of any qualifying benefits, you could qualify for free solar panels and enjoy up to 50% off your energy bills. Solar panel grants are subsidised by UK energy companies and don’t need to be paid back.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme

In 2012, the UK parliament approved the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. In its current form, the ECO4 scheme has £640 million per annum of funding allocated to the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) from which we claim the solar grants.

ECO4 funding is something that offers free solar panel UK grants to help homeowners and tenants (with landlord permission) in England, Scotland, and Wales to reduce their carbon emissions and energy bills.

Providing grants to vulnerable people, the scheme helps ensure your home is more energy-efficient. If you meet the eligibility criteria, we make it easy for you to secure a solar panel grant and installation.

We are passionate about ensuring that your grant application is always correct to the solar funding available. By working with leading local solar and electrical installers, we organise it all for you from grant to installation.

In addition, once installed you can often save up to 50% of your energy costs, which for many homes can be a significant amount of money.

Benefits of the Solar Funding Scheme
  • Reduced Energy Bills: Installing solar panels allows homeowners to generate their electricity, solar energy can result in lower energy bills by 70%, providing long-term cost savings.
  • Reduced Carbon Footprint: Solar power is a clean and environmentally friendly energy source. By using solar panels, individuals and businesses can significantly reduce their carbon footprint, contributing to global efforts to mitigate climate change.
  • Increased Property Value: Homes with solar panel home improvements
often have increased property values. The presence of solar panels can make a property more attractive to environmentally conscious buyers, and the potential for reduced energy bills is an appealing feature.

ECO4 Scheme

ECO4 provides low-income households with the chance to upgrade their outdated heating systems to a more eco-friendly and efficient option, like solar PV panels.

It is projected that ECO4 will enhance about 450,000 homes, primarily elevating them to EPC band C. Eligible households stand to decrease their average energy bills by approximately £290. In the case of the least efficient homes, these savings could reach up to £1,600 annually.

Can I get a grant for solar panels?

Solar panel grants are available via the Government’s ECO scheme, established to assist low-income households in enhancing home energy efficiency. This initiative not only aims to decrease carbon footprints but also strives to cut down on individuals’ energy expenses.

Who qualifies for the free solar panel grant 2023?

To be eligible for a complimentary solar PV grant through the Government’s ECO scheme, you must either be a property owner or a private renter with the landlord’s consent for the necessary modifications. Approximately £1.3 billion in funding is available for those receiving government benefits. The scheme is open to around 6.5 million households, and the government aims to implement energy-saving enhancements in 900,000 homes by March 2022. Despite the substantial funding, a significant portion remains unclaimed, leading to many lower-income households paying more than necessary for their energy.

Who Funds ECO4

ECO4 is backed by large and medium energy suppliers. They have legal obligations under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. This includes companies like British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Scottish Power, and Octopus Energy.
